Bering Air is an American regional airline based in Nome , Alaska .
history
Bering Air was founded in 1979 by Jim Rowe and started operating with a de Havilland Canada DHC-3 . In May 1988, Jim wrote aviation history by flying a Piper PA-31 from Nome Airport across the date line to Prowideniya , what was then the Soviet Union . Since then, charter flights have been offered to Proidenija . In July 2020, at the bankruptcy auction of Ravn Alaska Bering Air took over their branches at Aniak Airport and Nome Airport , as well as in Kotzebue and Unalakleet.
Destinations
32 destinations in Alaska are served from Nome , Kotzebue and Unalakleet . Most of them from Monday to Saturday twice a day and once on Sunday. Charter flights are also offered.
