Omni Air International is a US charter airline based in Tulsa and based at Tulsa International Airport .
history
Omni Air was founded in 1993 as Omni Air Transport and flew with Learjets to business customers and offered air rescue services. In 1993 the company bought a Boeing 727 freighter and now operated as Omni Air Express. She acted as a subcontractor for Emery Worldwide , UPS Airlines , BAX Global and DHL . She also completed a major contract for the United States Postal Service . After further growth in the cargo business, she bought a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 in 1997 and entered the passenger business under the name Omni Air International. In 1999 the airline won a tender from the United States Department of Defense to carry out military transports worldwide. These were carried out in particular during the Third Gulf War in 2003, including via the German Frankfurt-Hahn Airport . In February 2012, Omni Air International became the penultimate airline worldwide to retire its three last McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s from passenger service.
In November 2018, the Air Transport Services Group took over Omni Air for the equivalent of 733 million euros.
Destinations
Omni Air International carries passengers for US tour operators and federal agencies as well as the British Army and United States Army, and also flies ad hoc charter for other airlines, including Condor , Corsairfly , Eirjet , Eurocypria and XL Airways . The main charter routes are between Honolulu and Las Vegas . Mexico , the Caribbean and destinations in Florida are also served during the summer and winter seasons . Hanover Airport is also served on behalf of the Royal Air Force .
