Fernanda Brandão Gonçalves da Silva (born May 3, 1983 in Belo Horizonte ) is a Brazilian - German singer , dancer , presenter and fitness trainer who lives in Germany . She first became known solo as Dajango and Laava and then as a member of the Latin pop trio Hot Banditoz . Since the end of her career as a singer, Brandão has taken on various roles in television shows, panel discussions and at major events.

Life

Brandão grew up as the daughter of Max Gonçalves da Silva and Marcileide Carvalho Brandão in Rio de Janeiro in a family of artists. Her uncle and aunt were singers, and her mother produced music. At the age of nine she emigrated from Brazil with her mother and moved to Europe, where she lived in Hamburg-Steilshoop and received both dance and singing lessons. This was followed by training as a licensed fitness trainer in aerobics , body pump and Tae Bo at the age of 16 . As a professional dancer Brandão was in many music videos and stage performances by artists such as Shaggy , P! Nk , Enrique Iglesias , Seeed , Coolio , Modern Talking , ATC , Sarah Connor , DJ Rocco ( Generation of Love ) and Rick Astley to see . She was also active as a choreographer .

Brandão acquired German citizenship in 2004 and is fluent in Portuguese , Spanish , German and English . She was voted "Sexiest Woman in the World 2011" by the readers of the German edition of the men's magazine FHM .

Career

Breakthrough as a singer

In the early 2000s, the Output Music Organization production team took on the Brazilian and in 2000 released the song Baila Chica Baila with the 17-year-old under the stage name Dajango . Two years later, under the new stage name Laava, she had her first minor success with the single Wherever You Are (I Feel Love) , which reached number 66 in the German charts.

Then it was the founded in 2004 Latin Pop Trio Hot Banditoz cast , which in the same year with the title Veo Veo at No. 3 and the following year with Shake Your Balla (1, 2, 3 Alarma) at No. 5 of the German Singles chart celebrated its greatest success and could win a gold record. Until the band members split up in 2010, she released a total of three albums with Hot Banditoz, from which six singles made their way into the charts.

After the dissolution of Hot Banditoz in its former form, Fernanda Brandão gained wider notoriety in 2011 when she became a juror for the eighth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar together with Dieter Bohlen and Patrick Nuo and also stood as a candidate for the Fort Boyard game show . In October and November 2011 she was also seen alongside Detlef Soost as a juror for Popstars - Mission Austria , a direct offshoot of the German version that was paused at the time. She then took on her first acting role in the German-Austrian television film Das Traumhotel - Brazil in 2012 . In the same year, she also presented a program for the first time: In Star Race , she accompanied three prominent teams on RTL as they competed through the wilderness of the Philippines . This was followed in 2014 by a supporting role in the RTL action series Alarm for Cobra 11 .

During the football World Cup 2014 , Brandão was the official World Cup correspondent for ARD, an expert on the country and people in Brazil. During the World Cup she reported as an “on reporter” about the host country, its people and attractions. In 2015 she shot a total of five episodes of the ARD documentary series Crazy About the Sea in her native Brazil. Fernanda Brandão is often on TV shows and talk shows such as TV total , The Perfect Celebrity Dinner , Celebrity Shopping Queen , NDR DAS! or see the riverboat . In July 2015, she competed at Schlag die Star on ProSieben in a duel for 50,000 euros against model and actress Sophia Thomalla and lost. In November 2016 she took part in the dance show Deutschland tanzt on ProSieben and took third place in the final behind Kassandra Wedel and Oliver Pocher . Commercial

Fernanda Brandão has been under contract with the sporting goods manufacturer Puma since 2012 and, as a brand ambassador, presents two key styles per year in the “Training” area. In 2013, she has been a licensed fitness trainer since she was 16, and presented the specially designed workout GINGA by Fernanda Brandao . Since October 2013 she has also had several perfumes developed. After “Fernanda Brandão” (2013) and “Brazilian Summer” (2014), “Pure Aqua” was released in 2015 as the third fragrance in the series.

Charitable commitment

During a visit to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brandão became aware of the UERE project, after which she joined the Kinderland Brazil e. V. got in touch and suggested a charity campaign to the team when they were planning their second perfume “Brazilian Summer”.

The implementation was successful, a sum of 20,000 euros was raised, one hundred percent of which flowed into the UERE and Grupos Ruas e Praças projects. The official handover of the check took place in 2015 during the opening ceremony of the 49th Samba Festival in Coburg . Since then she has been regularly attending the UERE project in Rio de Janeiro and working with Kinderland Brazil e. V. together.
