The Erfurt fire brigade consists of the professional fire brigade with two locations and the voluntary fire brigade with twenty-one locations in the Thuringian state capital Erfurt . Organizationally, it is subordinate to the Office for Fire Protection, Rescue Service and Disaster Control (Office 37) of the state capital Erfurt. history

The Erfurt professional fire brigade was first mentioned on April 1, 1910 and emerged from the former Turner fire brigade . It had its seat on the regulator ring (today Juri-Gagarin-Ring).

In 1995, the company moved from the historic building on the regulator ring to the new emergency response center in Erfurt-Marbach .

Professional fire brigade

The Erfurt professional fire brigade is the largest professional fire brigade in Thuringia and consists of 215 civil servants in the upper or medium-sized fire service . It includes two hazard protection and security centers in the north and south of the city. The firefighters are distributed over three watch departments and perform their duty on the guards of the professional fire brigade according to an existing service system.

North Hazard Protection Center

The hazard protection center (GSZ) is located in the Erfurt-Marbach district on an area of ​​around 25,000 m² directly on federal highway 4 . It consists of three buildings, the fire station, the functional building and the rescue station. In addition to the Erfurt professional fire brigade, the danger protection center also houses the city's central control center , the German Red Cross and Johanniter Unfallhilfe aid organizations, as well as the private ambulance company Ambulanz Erfurt GmbH.

In the building of the fire station there are 30 vehicle parking spaces, a car workshop, wash hall and 46 rest and social rooms. The functional building houses a 24 m high hose tower, four exercise balconies, hose storage and washing, breathing protection training system, extinguishing equipment, radio, hose and breathing protection workshop as well as a clothing store, small parts warehouse and a sports room.

The South Hazard Defense Center (GAZ) is located in the southeast of the state capital Erfurt, in the Melchendorf district , on an area of ​​around 10,200 m². The fire station building has 10 vehicle parking spaces, a workshop, sanitary areas, rest and social rooms, a training area and a sports room. The rescue station has 13 vehicle parking spaces, office and administration rooms for the service providers and also rest and social rooms. There are 21 voluntary fire brigades and five fire fighting groups in the districts of Erfurt. These are organized in associations that were founded to better organize the fire services. Association of Erfurt-Mitte

Emergency response group

The emergency response group (SEG RD) is one of two specialist groups in the Erfurt fire brigade. With 62 active members, it is the larger of the two specialist groups. The specialty of the Erfurt SEG is that it only includes medical specialists. The SEG has a command vehicle for the rapid response group rescue service (FüKfz SEG-RD), a medical equipment vehicle (GW-San), an ambulance (KTW), four emergency ambulances (NKTW-B), three ambulances (RTW) and a roll-off container for major damage (AB major damage ) to disposal.

Emergency assistance
