The Football League Fourth Division 1961/62 was the fourth season of the fourth highest English football league . The top four teams were promoted to the Football League Third Division .

Accrington Stanley withdrew voluntarily after 33 games and was replaced by Oxford United the next season . The Doncaster Rovers , Hartlepools United and FC Chester , also among the last four , received enough votes in the re-election process of the league association to be allowed to participate again in the Fourth Division in the following 1962/63 season.
