Frank Murphy (politician, 1897)

Frank Murphy (born May 15, 1897 in Rensselaer , Rensselaer County , New York , †  December 25, 1944 ) was an American politician . Between 1941 and 1943 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Michigan .

Career

Since May 1920, Frank Murphy lived in Detroit , where he studied law and worked as a lawyer in this profession after his admission. He also worked as a tax advisor and for the tax authorities. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . In 1940 he was elected lieutenant governor of Michigan alongside Murray Van Wagoner . He held this office between 1941 and 1943. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1942 it was not confirmed.

In 1944, Frank Murphy was charged with bribery. He has admitted the allegations. It is not known whether there was still a trial and a conviction. He died on December 25th of the same year.
