J. Wight Giddings

Jabez Wight Giddings (born September 27, 1858 in Romeo, Michigan , † July 1, 1933 in Taos , New Mexico ) was an American politician . Between 1893 and 1895 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Michigan.

The sources on Wight Giddings are very poor. He lived at least temporarily in Cadillac , Wexford County . Professionally he was a lawyer; politically he belonged to the Republican Party . He was a member of the Michigan Senate between 1887 and 1890 . In 1892, Giddings was elected lieutenant governor alongside John Tyler Rich . He held this office between 1893 and 1895. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He later moved to Taos, New Mexico, where he died on July 1, 1933.
