Allen E. Stebbins

Allen E. Stebbins (born December 8, 1872 in Ionia , Ionia County , Michigan , † January 25, 1941 ) was an American politician . Between 1933 and 1935 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Michigan.

Career

Allen Stebbins initially worked as a farmer. He later became a funeral director. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . He was the chairman of the Sheridan City School Board . He also sat on the local council. Between 1931 and 1933 he served as Mayor of Ionia.

In 1932, Stebbins was elected Lieutenant Governor of Michigan alongside William Comstock . He held this office between 1933 and 1935. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1934 he was not re-elected. He died on January 25, 1941.
