Friedrichsthal is a district of the city and rural community of Bleicherode in the Nordhausen district , in the north of the Free State of Thuringia .

geography

The community Friedrichsthal was in the western part of the Nordhausen district, about ten kilometers north of the town of Bleicherode. The municipality stretched along the saddle between the two river valleys of the Helme in the north and the Bode in the south, both of which open to the east. The Bliedebach , a tributary of the Helmets, flows through the district itself . The localities of the municipality line up from a left side valley of the Helme, ascending to the south. The elevations in the vicinity of Friedrichsthal reach heights of around 300 m above sea level. NHN ( raspberry Berg : m 328.8, Stack Berg : 304 m). To the west and south of the community there are still remnants of what used to be a large, coherent mixed forest.

Friedrichsthal last bordered on the following communities (clockwise, starting from the north): Hohenstein , Werther , Etzelsrode , Kehmstedt and Lipprechterode .

history

The municipality of Friedrichsthal was created on July 1, 1950 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities Bliedungen and Gratzungen.

The name of the community formed from the places Bliedungen, Gratzungen and Königsthal comes from an estate of the same name in Bliedungen.

The oldest village in the municipality was Bliedungen, it was mentioned in a deed of donation from the year 970. The place is referred to as Villa Blidungen in pago Helmogow . Bliedungen was later donated to the Nordhausen Cathedral Monastery .

The oldest known evidence of Gratzungen can be found in a document, which shows that Archbishop Konrad von Mainz left a serf with her children to the Walkenried Monastery in 1184 and received a Hufe land in Grazingen in return .

The church in the Gratzungen district was built in 1755 instead of a smaller church that was demolished.

Since 1994 Friedrichsthal has transferred part of the administrative tasks as the commissioning municipality to the city of Bleicherode ( fulfilling municipality ). In the period from 1997 to 1999, several building projects were implemented as part of the village renewal program of the state of Thuringia.

The hamlet of Fronderode , which belongs to the district of Bliedungen , moved to the municipality of Werther on February 13, 2015. The small settlement Königsthal also belonged to the community.

On January 1, 2019, the communities Friedrichsthal, Etzelsrode , Kleinbodungen , Kraja , Hainrode , Nohra , Wipperdorf and Wolkramshausen as well as the city of Bleicherode merged to form the new city and rural community of Bleicherode. Bleicherode was already a fulfilling municipality for the Friedrichsthal municipality.
