The qualification for the Futsal European Championship 2005 took place from January 6th to February 1st 2004 in a total of nine groups in different countries. In addition to the EM host Czech Republic , the other starting places were secured in the qualification. For the first time there was a preliminary round, where the participants with the worst UEFA coefficient played against each other in two groups.
The Netherlands, Ukraine, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Hungary and Italy qualified for the final tournament from February 14th to 20th, 2005 in Ostrava .
