geography

Favoredt is on the northern edge of the Thuringian Basin . The Schwarzburgische Helbe flows through the village .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 802 . The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Weißensee until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the district Weissensee in the administrative district of Erfurt the province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

During the time of National Socialism , the first 20 prisoners of war from Stalag IV B Mühlberg / Elbe arrived in Favoredt as early as 1939; men and women who were abducted from Poland and the Ukraine followed in the next few years . In 1943 there were 53 forced laborers. In the autumn of 1943, Italian military internees and an unknown number of people from the former Yugoslavia arrived. The forced laborers had to work in agriculture.

After disputes with Sturmabteilung people , Karl Krämer (born 1889) was sentenced to three years in prison by the Kassel Higher Regional Court in December 1939 for “preparing for high treason” . Martha Koch, born in 1906, served a nine-month prison sentence from June 1, 1944 to February 1, 1945 for “subversive statements”.
