Büchel is a municipality in the Sömmerda district in Thuringia . It belongs to the administrative community Kindelbrück , which has its administrative headquarters in the city of Kindelbrück .

Büchel is located on the right bank of the Lossa , which is part of the Unstrut catchment area .

history

In the 9th century, it was first mentioned in the Hersfeld Monastery property register as Buchilide . In 1255 the Count of Beichlingen held court on the long stone near Büchel . In a certificate from the Count of Beichling, the pastor Nicolaus von Büchel is named as a witness in 1304.

In the 15th century Büchel belonged to the Wettin office of Sachsenburg . In 1466, the Frankenhausen monastery had the patronage right of the parish church in Buchelde. After the peasant uprising was dampened, the residents had to pay a fine in 1525. In 1539 the Reformation found its way into Büchel and Pastor Adam Schell had to undergo the visitation. In 1631 the Swedish king Gustav Adolf passed through the eastern Büchler corridor on Heerstraße. In the 17th century, Pastor Martin Richter believed he had calculated Judgment Day from the Bible . In 1795 a Bücheler fire engine was mentioned in the great Kölleda city fire.

By the resolutions of the Vienna Congress Büchel came together with the Saxon Office Sachsenburg to Prussia and in 1816 the county Eckartsberga in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which it belonged until the 1944th In 1833 the old church of Ortisei burned to the ground to the horror of the inhabitants. From 1834 to 1837 the new church was built in the middle of the village in the classical style. In 1926 a volunteer fire brigade was founded in Büchel. On April 11, 1945, Büchel was occupied by the Americans, the 69th US Infantry Division. In 1951 the last landowner, Karl Trümper, was expropriated and fled to the Federal Republic.

Blazon : "In silver with a green wavy border, a red Ulrich cross ."

Meaning: The red cross is a Ulrichskreuz and symbolizes the Ev. Church of St. Ulrich zu Büchel in the middle of the community. The wavy line represents the dam that surrounds the community.

The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Günter Lipp from Ebern and approved in 2003.

The Evangelical Church of St. Ulrich zu Büchel , which was designed and drawn by the Roßleben master builder Schierlitz in 1834 , is one of the special church buildings in Thuringia with its closed ensemble in the style of classicism .
