Gerhard Walter , (born July 10, 1972 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , actor , author and director .

Live and act

Gerhard Walter studied a combination of communication studies , theater studies and business administration at the University of Vienna , which he graduated in 2001. During his studies he took acting lessons with Herwig Seeböck and passed the stage entrance examination in 2002 .

In Herwig Seeböck's drama group, he met the cabaret artist Gery Seidl , with whom he founded the cabaret duo WalterSeidl in 2003 . For their first cabaret program “Why Richard III?” They received the Grazer Kleinkunstvogel , the Kärntner Kleinkunstdrachen and the Munich Cabaret Kaktus . For their second program "Run Taxameta" they were awarded the Austrian Cabaret Prize.

First film and theater engagements followed. Gerhard spent some time in London , Los Angeles , New York and San Francisco , where he took various acting courses. After his return he wrote, produced and played his first piece in English with Christina Scherrer, “Playing Sarah and Paul” .

In 2013 his first cabaret solo program "Happy End" appeared . In 2015 the cabaret program "Heil! Therapie" followed , which he wrote and played with the cabaret artist Jürgen Vogl . Also since 2015 he has been playing the program “Herz & Hirn” together with Günther “Gunkl” Paal , which was continued in 2018 in a new edition “Herz & Hirn II” .

In addition to his work as a cabaret artist and actor, he also works as a writer and director for other cabaret artists.
