Giuseppe Martano

Giuseppe Martano (born October 10, 1910 in Savona , † September 2, 1994 in Turin ) was an Italian cyclist .

In 1930 Giuseppe Martano became world champion in the street race of amateurs in Liège and was able to repeat this success in Rome in 1932 . In 1932 he was also the Italian amateur road champion and won the Giro del Piemonte .

From 1930 to 1940 Martano was a professional and after the Second World War again until 1948. He competed five times between 1933 and 1938 in the Tour de France ; In 1933 he was third overall, in 1934 second. In 1935 he finished second in the Giro d'Italia and won the Giro del Lazio . In 1937 he won at Milan-Turin .
