Rik Hoevenaers
Henri "Rik" Hoevenaers (born May 1, 1902 in Antwerp ; † November 12, 1958 there ) was a Belgian cyclist and world champion.
In 1924, Rik Hoevenaers started at the Olympic Games in Paris and won three medals: he came second in the individual road race and also second in the team standings. In the team pursuit on the track , the Belgian team with Hoevenaers came third.
At the UCI Road World Championships in Apeldoorn in 1925 , Hoevenaers became the amateur world champion in road racing. He was also three times Belgian champion in this discipline.
Rik Hoevenaers was the father of the equally successful racing cyclist Jos Hoevenaers , who u. a. 1959 La Flèche Wallonne won.
