This is blown up shortly afterwards by a leak in a gas pipe. Later, McGarrett can catch the perpetrator and shoot her. Chin Ho is then blackmailed and faced with a decision: to save his kidnapped wife Malia or his cousin Kono, who is about to die. Joe White returns and leads Steve to Shelburne in Japan.

The first broadcast of the third season was from September 24, 2012 to May 20, 2013 on the US broadcaster CBS . While Hawaii is hit by a hurricane, Five-0's interrogation room has to serve as a temporary holding cell for cartel boss Alejandro Vega. This is supposed to testify for the FBI as a key witness against warring cartels, which is why he himself is in great danger at the Five-0 headquarters, since the Aliʻiolani Hale also serves as accommodation for the population evacuated before the storm, including Vegas' enemies . At the same time, Tani helps with the evacuation of the island, but is captured by a stubborn family.
