Heartbound is the debut album by Australian post-hardcore band Dream On, Dreamer . It was released on August 3, 2011 in Japan ( Triple Vision Entertainment ), two days later in Australia ( UNFD ) and the United States , and in Europe on August 9, 2011 via Rise Records .
The album was produced by Cameron Mizell , who also collaborated on Memphis May Fire , Sleeping with Sirens and A Skylit Drive . A single single was released for the album.

The album was released on July 5, 2011, a single with Downfall . A music video was also shot later. In the last week of July the song Come Home True Love was released through The Music , but this song is not considered an official single.
Heartbound includes a total of ten tracks, including To the Lost , on which Matthew Wright - who was playing on The Getaway Plan at the time - can be heard as a guest singer. On November 30, 2012, the album was released with two additional songs and a music DVD. This includes a one-hour tour documentary as well as the music videos for the two bonus songs Midnight Thoughts and A Thousand Miles . The artwork has also been expanded and the lyrics have been provided with descriptions of the respective themes of the pieces.
To promote the album, the groups played several concert tours. In July 2011 the group was invited to play as the opening act for Avenged Sevenfold in Australia , after the actual support band, Sevendust , was canceled a few weeks before the tour started. In October the group played another tour of Australia and New Zealand , this time as opening act for The Devil Wears Prada and We Came as Romans , with the band being supported in New Zealand by Saving Grace . Before this Australian tour, the band was seen for the first time in Europe. This time the band opened up for The Color Morale and Memphis May Fire . The performances took place in Belgium , Germany , France , the United Kingdom , Italy , Austria and the Netherlands .
In January and February 2012 the group was the opening act for Attack Attack! seen on their US concert tour. Other support groups on this tour were Sleeping with Sirens , The Ghost Inside and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! . In February and March 2012 Dream On, Dreamer played for the first time at the Soundwave Festival . The group also gave two sideshows with Underoath . In August and September 2012, the group headlined the Homebound tour, which was supported by In Hearts Wake , Hand of Mercy and Like Moths to Flames . Finally, the band played several shows as part of the Mayhem Tour together with Make Them Suffer , Savior and In Fear and Faith within Australia from mid-November to early December 2012 .

Heartbound placed on August 21, 2011 at number 38 in the Australian album charts , where it was able to hold for a week. The album was also nominated at the ARIA Music Awards in the Rock Album of the Year category. The award went to the Australian rock band Front End Loader .
Reviews
In ALLSCHOOLS Network received Heartbound a more marbled criticism. The reviewer complained that the independent sound that the group celebrated on the EP Hope was partially lost. He justified this as a result of the band's collaboration with producer Cameron Mizell . The uniqueness and genius that made the band so special has also been lost on the album. The band's sound is compared with Attack Attack! .
At Alter the Press! the album also received a rather sobering review. The album is perceived as average. The critic also says, however, that you could see the band's potential by listening to the album several times. Brian Campbell still comes to the conclusion that the label to which the band was now under contract - Rise Records - had several bands with the same sound under contract, which would still sound better than Dream On, Dreamer, which is bad for the musicians was.
Chris Hidden from Rock Sound, however, rated the album positively. The group build on the metalcore and bring a mass of own ideas into the sound, which is supported by electronic music and progressive melodies.
In rock freaks got Heartbound also a positive review. Michael McLeod's clear vocals are compared to Kellin Quinn ( Sleeping with Sirens ) and Shayley Bourget (formerly Of Mice & Men ) , among others . The critic compares the band's sound to The Amity Affliction , In Fear and Faith , A Bullet for Pretty Boy and Confide .
