The Hessenpokal 2009 was the 64th edition of the men's soccer cup competition. The final took place on May 27, 2009 in the stadium at Bieberer Berg in Offenbach .
The cup winner will have the right to start the 2009/10 DFB Cup . If the cup winner has already qualified for the DFB Cup with one of the top four places in the 3rd division , the loser in the final is qualified for the DFB Cup.
No two teams from a club or a corporation are allowed to participate in the games for the DFB club cup.
Kickers Offenbach won the final against SV Darmstadt 98 1-0 and was thus eligible to start the first main round of the DFB Cup of the 2009/10 season, in which Offenbach was eliminated 3-0 against Frankfurt.
Participating teams
15 of the 16 participants in the Hessen Cup qualified through the Hessian regional cups (formerly district cups). Kickers Offenbach was the only club to qualify automatically.
