Tauberzell is a part of the municipality of Adelshofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The church village is located in the deeply cut shell limestone valley of the Tauber on the right bank of the river, mainly after the tributary of the short Neustetter Bach , ten kilometers downstream from Rothenburg ob der Tauber and eight kilometers upstream from Creglingen . Above the left Taubertal slope lies the Finsterlohr oppidum , the Keltenwall, a Celtic refuge .

The state road 2268 / L 2251 (= Romantic Road ) leads past the Uhlenmühle to Tauberscheckenbach (2 km southeast) or past the Hautschenmühle to Archshofen (3.3 km west). The district road AN 39 leads along the side valley to Neustett (1.7 km northeast) on the right plateau. Furthermore, the Taubertal cycle path "Liebliches Taubertal" and the Franconian Marienweg lead through the village.

history

The pin Herrieden bought in 1397 by Anna Weinberg place along with the Postal.

With the community edict (early 19th century), the tax district and the rural community Tauberzell were formed, to which the places Ackermannsmühle, Hautschenmühle and Uhlenmühle belonged. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Rothenburg . The municipality had an area of 4,905 km². In the course of the territorial reform , this was incorporated into Adelshofen on July 1, 1972.

Tauberzell is a Franconian wine-growing town with a centuries-old tradition. In the district of Ansbach, apart from a small vineyard in Rothenburg ob der Tauber , Tauberzell is the only place to be involved in large-scale viticulture , the single location is called Hasennestle. Cultivation is carried out on the slopes of the two valleys.

Holder mill

The border between the federal states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg runs through the Holdermühle estate approx. 500 m downstream from Tauberzell . The “borderline” of the Holdermühle is shown by the following interesting detail: The power supply comes from Tauberzell (Bavaria), while the telephone line comes from Archshofen with the area code for Creglingen (Baden-Württemberg).
