IC 886 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E0 in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 1 billion light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 5133 .
The object was discovered on June 10, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
