IC 874 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Hydra south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 98 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5061 , NGC 5078 , NGC 5101 , IC 879 .
The object was discovered by Frank Muller on March 14, 1888 .
