IC 881 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sa with an active galaxy core in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 311 million light years from the Milky Way and about 150,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with IC 882 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 22, 1892 .
