IC 900 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 315 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 150,000 light-years across .

In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 5248 .

The supernovae SN 2009gl (Type-IIb) and SN 2015at (Type-II) were observed here.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 14, 1892 .
