IC 905 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Bootes the northern sky . It is estimated to be 425 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 75,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 906 , IC 910 , IC 911 , IC 913 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 17, 1892 .
