The Intel Xeon series based on the NetBurst microarchitecture is a family of microprocessors for servers and workstations . They are the successors of the P6 -based Xeon processors.
Naming
With the introduction of the NetBurst architecture, the suffixes DP and MP were introduced to distinguish them. These describe whether the processor for D UAL P rozessor- ( Xeon DP ) or M Ultimatum P ROCESSOR systems ( Xeon MP ) is suitable.
