society

Beattie began her career at Hamilton Academical and Queen's Park FC . After a year with Celtic in the Scottish Women's Premier League , Beattie joined the Arsenal Ladies in England as the current national player in her country . There she was able to win numerous titles with the club, including the English championship in 2011 and 2012. She left a lasting impression on November 8, 2009 when she fell 2-0 at half-time against local rivals Chelsea with a flawless hat trick in a 3 : 2 win converted. For Arsenal, she played a total of 25 games in four seasons of the UEFA Women's Champions League and scored eight goals, first in the quarter-finals at FCR 2001 Duisburg , then in the semifinals at the eventual winners Olympique Lyon , then again in the semifinals at 1. FFC Frankfurt and most recently in the semifinals at eventual winners VfL Wolfsburg failed.

For the 2013/14 season she moved to the French Division 1 Féminine and played there for HSC Montpellier two seasons, which the team finished in fourth place. She then returned to England and has played for Manchester City ever since. After the end of the 2015 season, she went to Australia for the mid-season and played for Melbourne City FC with Kim Little and Welshwoman Jessica Fishlock , among others . She has been playing at Manchester since 2016 with her national teammate Jane Ross , who with eight goals made a significant contribution to the first Citizen Ladies Championship. So far, she has played 14 games in the UEFA Women's Champions League for ManCity. In 2017/18 they made it to the semi-finals, in 2018/19, on the other hand, was already the last sixteen.

In July 2018, she and the team took part in the Women's International Champions Cup , which was played for the first time , where Olympique Lyon was the opponent in the semi-finals . This game was lost with 0: 3. The game for 3rd place could then be won 2-1 against Paris Saint-Germain .

Beattie played 14 games for the Scottish U-19 team and took part in the U-19 European Football Championships in 2008 and 2010, as well as the qualifications, where she played with Rachel Corsie , Kim Little and Jane Ross , among others . While she scored a total of six goals in the qualifications, she managed only one goal in the finals, in which the Scottish women did not win a game. After 2010, the Scottish U-19 team could only qualify once in 2014.

For the Scottish national football team Beattie made his debut on March 5, 2008 against the U-20 team of the USA when she was substituted on for Leanne Ross . The game took place as part of the first Cyprus Cup in 2008 , in which the Scottish women finished last, and is not considered an official international match. Her first official international match followed two days later, when she was in the starting line-up in the group game against the Netherlands . She was then immediately a regular player and was missing from the international matches played during her time only 16 times, but never more than twice in a row. She was able to achieve her first goal two months later on May 3, 2008 in a 4-1 victory in a European Championship qualifier against Portugal . She scored a particularly important goal for the Scottish women on March 4, 2011, when the Scottish women won an official international match against England for the first time since May 29, 1977 . On February 5, 2012 she scored four goals in a 5-1 win against Northern Ireland , the last three as a "flawless" hat-trick in the 83rd, 87th and 89th minute.

On August 20, 2014, during the game against Portugal when the score was 1-0 in the final minute, she was sent off due to an emergency brake and the Portuguese were able to compensate for the penalty due.

In qualifying for the European Championship 2009 , the Scottish women failed in the play-offs against Russia , in the qualification for the European Championship 2013 in the play-offs with a last-minute goal against Spain and in the qualification for the 2015 World Cup in the first Round of playoffs for the Dutch women .

After missing a friendly against Sweden in January 2016 because of the league final in Australia, she was re-nominated for a friendly against Spain in March. She was then just as little used in the game as in the following game in the European Championship qualification against Slovenia, as she had to cancel due to an injury. This was the first time she missed three international matches in a row and her 100th international match had to be postponed. She succeeded on June 3, 2016, but lost with her team in Falkirk at home with 0: 4 against Iceland a game that was decisive for the group victory in the European Championship qualification, which meant they fell back to second place. The Scottish women were able to win the second leg in Iceland 2-1, but when adding up the goals, the Icelandic women were better. Nevertheless, it was enough for the Scottish women to qualify for the finals for the first time as best runner-up in the group. There they met the English women in their first game in July 2017. Jennifer Beattie had to be removed from the squad shortly before the European Championship due to an ankle injury.

In qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , she was one of the seven Scottish women who played all eight games without missing a minute. The Scottish women qualified for the first time for the World Cup, where they met England in their first game, as in the European Championship.

On May 15, 2019 she was nominated for the World Cup . At the World Cup it was used in the three group matches. After two 2-1 defeats against England and ex-world champions Japan , they led Argentina 3-0 after 69 minutes, with the second goal. Then they had to accept three more goals, the last decisive goal from a repeated penalty in the fourth minute of stoppage time according to video evidence. As a result, the Scottish women were the last in the group.
