Career
The 1.85 m tall winger began his professional career with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Canadian Junior League WHL before being selected as seventh in the first round by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft .
As early as the 2003/04 season , the Mighty Ducks used the right-handed shooter regularly in the NHL, when Lupul was nominated for the 2004 NHL YoungStars Game as one of the best rookies . The Canadian spent the lockout in the following season with the farm team Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in the American Hockey League . In Conference semi-final of the Stanley Cup -Play-offs in 2006 against the Colorado Avalanche managed Lupul the first player in the history of the highest North American Hockey League, four goals in a playoff game, including the game-winning stores in the extension to achieve. Nevertheless, the attacker was transferred to the Edmonton Oilers after the season together with Ladislav Šmíd and several draft picks in exchange for Chris Pronger . This in turn gave him on July 1, 2007 together with Jason Smith for Joni Pitkänen and Geoff Sanderson from the Philadelphia Flyers . On June 26, 2009, the Anaheim Ducks announced that they had transferred Lupul, along with Luca Sbisa and some draft picks, against Chris Pronger and Ryan Dingle from the Philadelphia Flyers. His second engagement in Anaheim lasted almost two seasons, in which Lupul showed good performances, but did not even play half of all games due to injury problems. In February 2011, the Californians gave it to the Toronto Maple Leafs in order to acquire defense attorney François Beauchemin in a swap from the Leafs.
Due to the NHL lockout, Lupul completed a few games in the Continental Hockey League for Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the fall of 2012 .
