Juliane Koschel (* 26. July 1984 in Potsdam as Juliane Straub ) is a former German track and field athlete and triathlete .
Career
Juliane Straub is the daughter of Jürgen Straub , one of the world's best middle-distance runners of the 1980s, and the sports teacher Cornelia Straub.
She grew up with her brother Alexander in Potsdam . From 1991 to 1995 she played soccer at 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam and from 1995 to 2000 she was part of the athletics department of SC Potsdam .
Triathlon since 2000
In 2000 she started triathlon and initially joined the Zeppelin Team Potsdam . With her move to the sports high school in Neubrandenburg in 2002, she also moved to SC Neubrandenburg , where she a. a. trained together with Ines Estedt and Anja Dittmer . After graduating from high school in 2005, she began training as an office clerk . After advancing in the previous year, she was runner-up in the Triathlon Bundesliga with SC Neubrandenburg in 2008 .
After completing her training in 2008, Straub moved to Kurzendorf and started working for Schüller Möbelwerk . In terms of sport, she joined the Bundesliga team of the Synergy Sports Team TV 1848 Erlangen , with whom she was German runner-up in the triathlon Bundesliga in 2009. At the turn of the year 2010, Straub had moved back to Werder (Havel) in Brandenburg and switched to a commercial agency for furniture and lighting. In terms of sport, she initially remained active for the Erlangen team, where she repeated her runner-up championship with the team in 2010 and at the same time achieved the bronze medal in the Germany Cup with four top ten placements in the individual standings.
In autumn 2010 Juliane Straub worked as a model in a nude calendar together with eleven other professional triathletes, including Rebecca Robisch , Anja Ippach , Imke Schiersch , Meike Krebs , Celia Kuch , Annett Finger , Heidi Jesberger and Eva Dollinger . With the proceeds from the sale of the calendar, a. Sports therapy projects for young people at risk of crime financed.
2011 Traub achieved her most successful season in the triathlon Bundesliga: With the TV 48 Erlangen she won the championship and at the same time the individual ranking in the Germany Cup.
At the beginning of 2012, Juliane Straub moved to Regensburg , where she has since worked at a training institute for behavioral therapy. From the 2012 season she started for the Stadtwerke Team Witten , with whom she was runner-up in the triathlon Bundesliga in 2012 and 2013.
Triathlon professional since 2013
After her first start in the professional field of a large middle distance triathlon ended with the exit after two tire defects on the bike course of Challenge Kraichgau , two months later she was the second best German in the top behind Anja Dittmer at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden -Ten.
After Straub's team missed a podium finish for the first time since 1997 in 2014, Juliane Straub started again in the 2015 season for TV 48 Erlangen in the triathlon Bundesliga. It has not appeared internationally since 2015.
In September 2015 she married Sebastian Koschel and since July 2016 she has had a daughter.
