Kalju (German Kaljo ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Lääne-Nigula (until 2017: rural municipality Kullamaa ) in Lääne County in Estonia .

Population and location

The place has 38 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located thirty kilometers southeast of the county capital Haapsalu .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document at the beginning of the 16th century under the name Calge minor .
