Tagavere (German Tackfer ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Lääne-Nigula in Lääne County in Estonia . Until 2013 it belonged to the now dissolved rural community Taebla .

Description and history

The village has 34 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is 14 kilometers northeast of the county capital Haapsalu ( Hapsal ).

The village was first mentioned in 1427 under the name Tackever .

The Tagavere manor has been occupied since 1493 . The last owner before the expropriation in the course of the Estonian land reform in 1919 was the noble Baltic German family Ungern-Sternberg .
