Kuijõe (German Kuijöggi ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Lääne-Nigula in Lääne County in Estonia . Until 2013 it belonged to the rural community of Risti .

Population and location

Kuijõe is located 29 kilometers northeast of the county capital Haapsalu . The village has 31 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

The Valgeristi raba moorland lies west of Kuijõe .

Well known is the Kuijõe cemetery. It was created by the strong local Baptist church . The first burial took place in 1921.

Manor

The manor Kuijöggi was first mentioned in the 1688th In June 1909, the then Baltic German owner, Baron Woldemar von Uexküll (1860-1952), sold the farm to the Russian Agricultural Bank ( Vene Talurahva Põllupank ) founded in 1882 . The bank parceled out the property.

The modest, single-story mansion was built in the early 19th century. It is now privately owned.
