Kortenaken is a municipality with 7875 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the province of Flemish Brabant in the Kingdom of Belgium . It consists of the districts of Kortenaken , Hoeleden , Kersbeek-Miskom , Ransberg and Waanrode .

Leuven is 24 km to the west, Liège is 46 km to the southeast and Brussels is about 48 km to the west.

The next motorway exits are at Bekkevoort and Halen on the A 2 .
In Diest , Hasselt , Sint-Truiden and Tienen are the next regional stations .
The airports of Liège and Maastricht are the closest regional airports and Brussels National near the capital is an international airport.
