Kuczki ( German  Gut Kutzen ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community Kalinowo (Kallinowen , 1938 to 1945 Dreimühlen) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).

Geographical location

Kuczki is located 1.3 kilometers north of the associated village of Kucze (Kutzen) in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 17 kilometers east of the district town of Ełk (Lyck) .

history

The small town Kutzen was until 1945 a Good within the same rural community Kutzen and whose history closely connected. The village with the material including an associated brick factory belonged to the county elk in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1905 the Kutzen estate had 52 inhabitants.

With all of southern East Prussia , the municipality and Gut Kutzen came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war. The village received the Polish name form "Kucze", while the estate was given the name "Kuczki". Kuczki is now a colony and probably assigned to the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) Kucze . Both are thus part of Gmina Kalinowo in the powiat Ełcki .

Religions

Together with the mother community of Kutzen, the Kutzen estate belonged to the Protestant Church Pissanitzen (1926 to 1945 Ebenfelde , Polish: Pisanica ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and to the Roman Catholic Church of Prawdzisken (1934 to 1945 Reiffenrode , Polish Prawdziska ) im Diocese of Warmia .

Today, on the Catholic side, Kuczki belongs to the parish church in Pisanica in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents stick to the parish in the district town of Ełk (Lyck) , a branch parish of the parish in Pisz (Johannisburg) in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Kuczki is very far away from the traffic and can only be reached via a partly quite impassable overland road that leads from the village of Kucze (Kutzen) to Czyńcze (Czynczen , 1938 to 1945 Zinschen) .
