In the 19th century, the noblemen von Sutz were among the first ministerials of the Counts of Neuchâtel-Nidau. 1388-1393 Sutz-Lattrigen was slammed with Nidau to Bern. The two settlements of Sutz and Lattrigen maintained close contacts with the villages on the north shore of Lake Biel until the new traffic routes were built in the 19th century and traded with them. The port of Lattrigen was a considerable transshipment point for the wine that was shipped to Bern.
