List of Members of the Carinthian State Parliament (26th legislative period)
This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (26th legislative period) lists all the members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 26th legislative period. The legislative period lasted from the constituent session of the Landtag on April 21, 1989 to the inauguration of the subsequent Landtag in the 27th legislative period on April 19, 1994.
After the state elections in 1989 , 17 of the 36 seats went to the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), which lost three seats and lost an absolute majority for the first time since 1970. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) also lost three seats and only achieved eight seats, and the ÖVP was overtaken by the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), which won six seats and subsequently had eleven members of the state parliament for the first time.
The state parliament elected the state government Haider I on April 21, 1989, which succeeded the state government Zernatto I on June 25, 1991 .
