The list of cultural monuments in Lichtenberg (Lausitz) contains the cultural monuments of the Saxon community of Lichtenberg that were recorded by the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments until July 2017 (excluding archaeological cultural monuments). The notes are to be observed.

This list is a partial list of the list of cultural monuments in the Bautzen district .

1840 (church); around 1800 (tomb); after 1836 (tomb); after 1918 (war memorial) Church octagonal central building, plastered quarry stone building with tent roof, sacristy in the east, on the west side a square tower with an octagonal bell storey and helmet, of architectural and artistic importance. Church octagonal central building with surrounding double wooden galleries. War memorial: granite cube with a stepped end. Byzantine - historicizing style; with double wooden galleries and dome on eight pillars, built by master builder Christian Gottlieb Ziller according to designs by Ernst Hermann Arndt .

Sandstone tombs in the churchyard:

  • Tomb of Johanne Eleoneore? (1783–1836), profiled base on a rectangular floor plan with beveled edges, decoration of the surfaces with leaves and poppy seed capsules, richly decorated cover plate with lateral acroteries (shell-shaped), heavily weathered side walls covered with decor
  • Late baroque tomb on a slightly concave curved base, two medallions (originally possibly bearing inscriptions or coats of arms), above them a cross-shaped upper end with a halo, god's eye and framing clouds
  • Grave slab with a slightly raised slab describing a segment of a circle with inscription (only partially visible, part of the slab is currently buried in the ground), upper end rich decoration with insignia of the Lord's Supper (chalice, wafer, holy book), above two hands, one Holding a crown decorated with palmettes, fleshy foliage as a frame, according to information on site, this tomb was restored and is now in the church, until 2012 it was erroneously listed under Mittelbacher Straße in the list of monuments

  • The official list of cultural monuments is never closed. It is permanently changed through clarifications, new additions or deletions. A transfer of such changes to this list is not guaranteed at the moment.
  • The monument quality of an object does not depend on its entry in this or the official list. Objects that are not listed can also be monuments.
  • Basically, the property of a monument extends to the substance and appearance as a whole, including the interior. Deviating applies if only parts are expressly protected (e.g. the facade).

    Evangelical Parish Church Lichtenberg. Remarkable, on a hill, visible from afar, octagonal central building in the succession of the Church of e Lohmen, district of Saxon Switzerland. Here is a modification of the stretched floor plan into a regular octagon. New building in 1840/41 based on plans by Ernst Hermann Arndt. Plastered quarry stone building with a tent roof, the sacristy in the east. On the west side a square two-storey tower with an octagonal bell storey and a helmet, this is surrounded by small triangular gables. The storeys set back towards the top are emphasized by strongly profiled cornices with a blind arch frieze. The interior is covered by a flat dome, supported by eight pillars. Two-storey surrounding wooden galleries, the organ gallery is single-storey and curved out convexly. Simple pulpit altar made of wood, painted to imitate sandstone: Very narrow box-shaped attachment on a high pedestal with three medallions with half-length portraits of Luther, Melanchthon and Christ in the middle. Baptism with a polygonal sandstone base, the wooden lid decorated with stylized palmette carvings, around 1900. Owl organ, 1907/08, case by Hornhauer 1844.
