This list shows all football clubs , in the since 1897 top division of the Swiss Football Association have played.

A total of 76 different clubs have played in the top league at least once. However, only 51 of these remain; 21 were dissolved. Four other clubs merged with other players in the top league (FC Neuchâtel with FC Vignoble to Cantonal Neuchâtel and Cantonal Neuchâtel in turn with FC Xamax to Neuchâtel Xamax , FC Geneva with Urania Genève Sport and Fortuna Zurich with FC Blue Stars Zurich ) . The Grasshopper Club Zurich have played the most seasons in the top division, namely the 113. After that, the following BSC Young Boys with 110. In third place following the FC Basel with 108 seasons. The oldest club still in existence that has played at least once in the highest league is FC St. Gallen (founded on April 19, 1879). Thirteen different clubs from the Canton of Zurich have already played in the top league once; more than in any other canton.

Designation of the highest league

Since the football league was launched in Switzerland, its name has been changed several times.

• 1897/98 : Ruinart Cup (unofficial)
• 1898/99 - 1929/30 : Series A
• 1930/31 : 1st division
• 1931/32 - 1943/44 : National League
• 1944/45 - 2002/03 : National League A
• since 2003/04 : Super League

• Club name: gives the name of the football club.
• Canton / State: Shows the canton or state in which the club is located.
• Date of establishment: Only the last date is given for new companies.
• League: Shows the current league of the club. Clubs that are currently playing in the highest league are highlighted in color .
• Region: Indicates which regional association the club belongs to.
• Seasons: The number of seasons in the highest Swiss league.
• Logo: Displays the club logo.
