List of participants in the FIFA Club World Cup

This list includes all the teams that have participated in the tournament since the FIFA Club World Cup was first held in 2000. The teams are arranged according to continental associations and countries of origin. In the years 2001 to 2004 the Club World Cup was not held.

1Australia was a member of the OFC until 2005. The Australian Football Association has been a member of the AFC since 2006.
2 Adelaide United took part in 2008 as a losing AFC Champions League finalist instead of a representative of the host country, as Japanese champions Gamba Osaka were also winners of the AFC Champions League.
3 Sepahan Isfahan took part in 2007 as a losing AFC Champions League finalist instead of a representative of the host country, as Japanese champions Urawa Red Diamonds were also winners of the AFC Champions League.
4th Corinthians São Paulo took part in 2000 as champions of the host country Brazil in addition to the Brazilian winner of the Copa Libertadores, the club Vasco da Gama.
5Real Madrid took part in 2000 in addition to the reigning Champions League winner Manchester United as the second European team. Qualification was achieved by winning the 1998 World Cup (Manchester had won it in 1999).
