List of holders of the gold medal of the state of Vorarlberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list includes all holders of the Gold Medal of Honor of the State of Vorarlberg , the highest award for services to the Austrian state of Vorarlberg . The highest state award in Vorarlberg can be awarded in two ways: on the one hand, automatically by being elected as governor or president of the state parliament , and on the other hand by the state council of honorary marks.

In principle, the validity of the badge expires with the death of the wearer, which is why the persons listed here are all those who have been awarded the badge in gold and not just those who are currently bearers of the badge. The State of Vorarlberg's Decoration of Honor Act from 1963 (last amended in 2009) stipulates that a maximum of 24 people may wear a Golden Decoration of Honor awarded by the State Council of Honor at the same time. This provision does not apply to those persons who have received the honorary badge due to their office. The list is sorted chronologically according to the year of award.
