List of clubs in the Bundesliga
All clubs that have ever played in the Bundesliga or the 2nd Bundesliga are listed. For a better overview, the list is divided into six tables (see table of contents).
Notes on the tables
For clubs that no longer play in the first or second Bundesliga, the current league membership and the level of the relevant league are given. For clubs that no longer exist, the year of dissolution is usually given. Further information on successor clubs can be found on the website of the respective club. For clubs that are now playing under a different name or that have emerged from a merger of two clubs or football departments, the current club name is given.
The subdivision into the six tables below is only for better readability. For reasons of space, a club is only listed in one of the tables, even if it could be assigned to several according to the table name.
For the current Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs, the current season is already included in the total number of years.
