1904 to 1912 the territory of Acre was administered by the prefects of the three departments Alto Acre, Alto Purus and Alto Juruá, from 1912 to 1920 it was administered with Alto Tarauacá by the prefects of the four departments. From 1921 there was a central administration under a governor.
