List of magical writings
The list of magical scripts gives an overview of traditional grimoires , magical scripts , magical manuscripts and papyri up to the year 1800. Depending on the content of the script, there is a division into the categories below, the transition is often fluid and some scripts can also be divided into several categories classify. The writings are provided with the year of publication and author, if known, or a reference to the alleged authorship by a legendary figure, if given.
Pre-Christian Magical Scriptures
These writings, which are preserved on clay tablets , stone walls , scrolls or early codices , contain a mixture between religion and magic. In numerous ancient cultures, magic was an integral part of religion.

Magic writings of popular belief
Mostly Christian-magical treasure magic books mixed with popular superstition and popular belief . Magical recipes
