Lorenzo Insigne (born June 4, 1991 in Naples ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with SSC Napoli .

Career

SSC Naples

Insigne came to the youth department of SSC Napoli in 2006 and went through all teams from there. In 2009 he was nominated for the first time for the professional squad and was also used once. For the second half of the 2009/10 season he was awarded to Cavese in 1919 and played ten games there. For the entire 2010/11 season, the striker was loaned to US Foggia and scored 19 goals in 33 games. Thereupon the insignia of Delfino Pescara was awarded in 1936 . With this team he was Zdeněk Zeman champion in Series B 2011/12 season and got into the Serie A on. He formed a storm duo with Ciro Immobile , who scored 46 times in 42 games, scored 18 goals in 37 games and was sixth on the top scorer list . In the 2012/13 season, Insigne played a total of 40 games for SSC Napoli, scoring five goals. Since then he has been an important part of the SSC Napoli starting grid. Since 2019, after the departure of Marek Hamšík, he has also been captain on the field. After his successes in both the Coppa Italia in the 2013/14 season and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2014, Lorenzo Insigne also won his first title as captain of SSC Napoli with the 2020 Coppa Italia win .

National team

From 2010 he became aware of Insigne through his good performance at US Foggia and nominated him for the U-20 team of Italy , for which he played five games until 2011 and scored one goal. From 2011 he was also nominated for the U-21 team . In June 2013, Insigne won the runner-up title at the European Championships in Israel with the team trained by Devis Mangia after they had to admit defeat to Spain 2: 4 in the final .

Insigne has been married to his wife Jenny since December 31, 2012 and they have two sons together. His brother Roberto is also a professional footballer and plays for Benevento Calcio in Serie B.
