Arkadiusz "Arek" Milik (born February 28, 1994 in Tychy ) is a Polish football player . He plays for SSC Napoli and is a Polish national player .
Career
societies
Early years
Milik grew up in his native Tychy. Since no football club had a youth team corresponding to his age there during his youth, he commuted to Katowice, 20 kilometers away, and was trained in the youth department of Rozwój Katowice . On October 23, 2010 he made his debut for the club's first team in the fourth-class third division , scoring two goals. After he scored four goals in ten games in the third division in the 2010/11 season and had also reached third place with the U-17 team of his club in the Polish U-17 championship finals, Milik moved to in the summer of 2011 Górnik Zabrze . On October 12, 2012 Milik made his debut in the Polish national team against South Africa . Four days later, he made his competitive debut in qualifying for the 2014 World Cup against England . In his fourth appearance for the national team on December 14, 2012, he scored his first international goal in a 4-1 win in the test international match against Macedonia . He then played for a year in the Polish U-21 team and was then called back to the A team in the qualifying phase for the 2016 European Championship . On October 11, 2014 in Warsaw in the game against world champions Germany with his header to 1-0 (final score 2-0) , he initiated the first Polish win against a DFB team. He played nine of the ten qualifying games and was only absent in the last game against Ireland due to injury. He scored six goals; with six assists, he was the best set goal maker in qualifying.
He was then called up as one of three strikers in the Polish squad for the Euro 2016 in France and played all five games as a regular. In the first game against Northern Ireland he scored the 1-0 winner, in the third game against Ukraine he prepared the decisive goal for Poland. Both the eighth and quarter-finals were decided on penalties and both times he was successful as a shooter. Nevertheless, the team lost to Portugal in the quarter-finals and missed the semi-finals.
At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he was part of the Polish squad . He was used in a group game and retired with the team after the group stage.
