Laduschkin ( Russian Ладушкин ; until 1946 German Ludwigsort , also Schneewalde ) is a rajon-free small town in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad , between Kaliningrad and the border with the Polish Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship not far from the Fresh Lagoon . It has 3787 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010). The city is the administrative seat of the Ladushkin urban district .
The name Laduschkin also stands for the neighboring town, which until 1946 bore the German name Schneewalde .
Geographical location
The village is located in the west of the historical region of East Prussia near the east bank of the Frischen Haff , about 18 kilometers northeast of Heiligenbeil ( Mamonowo ) and 28 kilometers southwest of Königsberg ( Kaliningrad ).
history
The place was founded in 1314. The area is an old settlement area, which is documented by a prehistoric burial ground northeast of the village.
"Ludwigsort" entered history with the construction of a paper mill in 1593. Margrave Georg Friedrich , the guardian of Duke Albrecht Friedrich of Prussia , lent the mill, which belongs to the state, to the Königsberg printing house owner Georg Osterberger on October 10, 1597 . He in turn sold the mill and a larger number of owners changed until 1709 Friedrich Ludwig von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck bought the now ailing mill and gave it his name "Ludwigsort". When work in the paper mill was stopped in 1780, it became a preliminary work of Gut Charlottenthal , which in the 18th century was a hunting and pleasure palace for the Duke of Holstein-Beck.
In 1816 Johann Gottlieb Jakob Theophil Nanke (1763-1835), who was a former teacher in Schirwindt , became the owner of the estate. Before 1858, Hermann Douglas (1840–1895), the son of the Königsberg city councilor Carl Douglas Carl Douglas, who had leased the amber shelf along the coast from the state , acquired the property . In the middle of the 19th century, the late classicist manor was also built.
In 1874 from the agricultural estates Ludwigsort and Charlottenthal and the rural communities was Patersort (Beregowoje) and Schwanis (Sosnowka) of the District formed Ludwigsort, in 1883 also came Gutsbezirk Wendelau it.
"Ludwigsort" as a climatic health resort was a summer retreat for the townspeople from Königsberg in Pr., Which was probably due to the fact that the place received a train station for the Prussian State Railway from Dirschau to Seepothen as early as 1894 .
Before the Second World War , the school and the mayor's office were housed in one building. The school had three classrooms in which three teachers (main teacher Brand, killed while trying to escape in 1945; teacher Kreddig and teacher Schulz) taught. During the Second World War there was an ammunition factory in the village, which the villagers called "Muna". Semi-detached houses were built for the munitions workers, each with an apartment above and below. Mayor was Erich Schulz (not the teacher Schulz), who was also the local group leader of the NSDAP .
In 1945 Ludwigsort belonged to the district of Heiligenbeil in the administrative district of Königsberg in the province of East Prussia of the German Empire .
Towards the end of the Second World War , the place was taken by the Red Army without a fight in the spring of 1945 and was therefore initially completely unscathed. After the Second World War, the place was placed under Soviet administration by the Soviet occupying forces along with the entire northern half of East Prussia. Ludwigsort was assigned to the Kaliningrad Oblast and received city rights in 1946. The Russian version of the place name was chosen in honor of the lieutenant of the armored forces and hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously) Ivan Laduschkin (1922-1945), who died on March 16 during the fighting for the Heiligenbeiler Kessel near the southern German Thierau (today Iwanzowo) Life came.
The place Beregovoye (Patersort) was incorporated into Ladushkin .
