The Malagasy national basketball team for women is the selection of Malagasy basketball players that the Fédération Malagasy de Basket-Ball represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest successes were winning the African Cup in 1970 and then participating in the World Cup in 1971 . In 1963, the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In June 2014, the team was ranked 63rd in the world rankings for women .

Madagascar at the Africa Games

The women's national basketball team of Madagascar was able to win the silver medal twice ( 1965 , 1973 ) in the competitions of the African Games . Despite further successful qualifications for the tournament, the team has not participated in the competition since then.
