The South African national basketball team for women is the selection of South African female basketball players who represent Basketball South Africa on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest success was the sixth place at the African Championship in 1994 . In 1992 the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In June 2014, the team was ranked 70th in the world rankings for women .
