The Malian national basketball team for women is the selection of Malian women basketball players that the Fédération Malienne de Basketball represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest successes were winning the 2007 African Championship and participating in the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2010 World Cup . In 1961, the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In June 2014, the team was ranked 18th as the best African women's basketball team in the world rankings for women .
International competitions
Mali at world championships
The team was able to qualify by second place at the African Cup of Nations 2009 for the World Cup 2006 , where they finished 15th out of 16 teams ahead of Senegal .
Mali at the Olympic Games
So far, the team has once managed to qualify for the Olympic basketball competitions by winning the 2007 African Championship . At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , the team finished last among twelve participants.

The team can boast 15 participations in the African Championship so far . The national team was able to win the competition once and took second place once and third place twice.
Mali at the Africa Games
The women's national basketball team in Mali has taken part twice in the African Games competitions. In 2007 the national team reached tenth place and in 2011 it was twelfth.
