The Mozambican national basketball team for women is the selection of Mozambican basketball players that the Federação Moçambicana de Basquetebol represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest successes were the second places at the African Championships in 1986, 2003 and 2013, and participation in the 2014 World Cup . In 1978 the national federation joined the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In June 2014, the team was ranked 38th in the world rankings for women .

The team was able to qualify for the 2014 World Cup by finishing second at the 2013 African Cup. This was the first time I took part in a World Cup.

Mozambique at the Africa Games

The women's national basketball team of Mozambique won the gold medal in the African Games competitions in 1991 and silver in 1995 . In addition, the national team finished fourth in the competitions in 1987 , 2007 and 2011 , and in 1999 the team finished fifth.
