The Somali national basketball team for women is the selection of Somali basketball players who represent the Somali Basketball Federation on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest success was second place at the 1979 African Cup of Nations . In 1960, the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In June 2014, the team was not included in the world rankings for women .
